HOW I CAN HELP
Whether you’re seeking care for the first time or revisiting your treatment, we’ll start by understanding what matters to you.
A conversation about your symptoms, history, and goals to help make sense of what you’re experiencing and guide your next steps.
Collaborative decisions, clear explanations, and ongoing follow-up. We’ll consider treatment in the context of your daily life.
Space to reflect, understand patterns, and develop practical ways to navigate challenges—alongside medication when appropriate.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Care for children, adolescents,
adults, and older adults.
Trouble focusing, getting started, or following through can affect work, school, and relationships. We’ll talk about the patterns you’re noticing and explore an individualized plan.
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, or panic can make your world feel smaller. Care begins with understanding your experience and what you want to feel more comfortable doing.
Low mood, less motivation, or a sense of disconnection can be difficult to put into words. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
My practice also supports people navigating mood disorders, OCD, sleep concerns, stress, and grief. We’ll consider your needs, history, and the kind of support that fits.
MEET YOUR PROVIDER

“My goal is to make care feel approachable, personal, and connected to your life.”
I’m Eddie. I’ve worked in mental health and psychiatry since 2018, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I earned my degrees at Stony Brook University, including a master’s in psychiatric mental health nursing.
I bring a down-to-earth, collaborative approach to our work. That means listening to your experience, explaining your options, and building a plan together. Medication, therapy, and conversations about lifestyle can all have a place in your care.
You can expect a supportive space where questions are welcome and your goals help guide treatment.

A FAMILY’S EXPERIENCE
“He listens, thinks carefully, and makes measured adjustments rather than simply throwing medications at a problem. His medical knowledge is matched by genuine kindness and compassion.”
View the practice on GoogleFor us Eddie Balzar was nothing short of a godsend.
We came to Eddie after years of enormous difficulty with our teenage autistic twin girls. One struggled with pica, extreme hyperactivity, bouts of aggression and hostility, and other disruptive behaviors. The other would sometimes cry continuously for as long as two full days. Our lives had become dominated by crisis, uncertainty, and exhaustion.
Eddie changed that.
Through a thoughtful combination of carefully chosen medications, close attention to how each girl responded, and practical behavioral suggestions, he has helped both of them become remarkably stable and well regulated. What impressed us most was the care and precision with which he approached medication. He listens, thinks carefully, and makes measured adjustments rather than simply throwing medications at a problem. His medical knowledge is matched by genuine kindness and compassion.
The change in our household has been extraordinary. After years of turmoil and strife, both girls have recently become a pleasure to live with. Our home is calmer, more peaceful, and happier. We have been given back a quality of family life that we had almost forgotten was possible.
We are enormously grateful to Eddie. His skill, patience, compassion, and careful judgment have made an enormous difference in the lives of these two girls and in the lives of everyone who loves them.
We don't simply appreciate Eddie. We love this guy. He has been an extraordinary gift to our family, and we cannot recommend him highly enough.
“He genuinely cares about each one as an individual. He is knowledgeable and explains everything very well. He is also very patient and is willing to explain things until you are comfortable.”
“Extremely thoughtful and responsive. Hard to find a similar level of care.”
“Since the first day meeting Eddie I felt a sense of understanding and non judgment.”
“His communication style is clear, patient, and genuinely supportive. He takes the time to listen and understand, and he explains his perspective in a way that feels collaborative and grounded.”
